Panther's Face Difficult Week of Losses

Last week was a difficult one for the Panther Boy's Basketball Team.  We began the week in Port St. Joe on November 8th with a crushing defeat of 56-26 to the St. Joe Sharks.  Garrett Swier led the team by putting 12 points on the board, followed by Micah McCaskill who scored 6, D.J. Pittman with 3, and Ken King, Noah Davis, and Hunter Jaikin with 2 points each.  We played hard but could not outrun those Sharks!  Our "B" team also fell to the Shark attack by a score of 18-1 with Bailey Singletary putting the only point on the board for the Panthers.

On November 9th the Panthers hit the road again, to travel to Blountstown to face off against the Tigers.  Once again, we had to accept defeat as the Tigers overtook us by a score of 42-19.  Micah McCaskill led the Panthers in scoring by putting 8 points on the board, while Ken King scored 7, and Garrett Swier added 4 points to the board.  King also led the team with 10 rebounds followed by D.J. Pittman with 4 and Swier with 3.  Our "B" team was also defeated by the Tigers, with a score of 15-9.  Leading scorer was Ricky Ramer with 5 points, follwed by Hunter Jaikin and Zack Haney with 2 points each.  Zack led the team in rebounds with 5, followed by Ryan Rogers with 3 and Jaikin with 2.

The Panthers ended the week on Friday, November 12th, at home facing off against the Tolar Bulldogs. The Panthers hoped the home court advantage would help us to overpower the Bulldogs, but unfortunately that would not be the case.  The Bulldogs defeated us by a score  of 50-32.  Ken King was hot today!  He led the team with 18 points, followed by Micah McCaskill with 9 points, Garrett Swier who added 4 points and Noah Davis who added 1 point.  McCaskill led the team in rebounds with 7, Pittman with 6, King with 5, Davis with 3, Duggar with 2, and Swier with 1.    The "B" team also fell to the Dawgs by a score of 8-16.  Bailey Singletary led the team with 4 points, followed by Zack Haney and Ricky Ramer with 2 points each.  Ken Thompson led the team with 4 rebounds, Haney followed with 3, Hunter Jaikin had 2 and Singletary got 1.

All in all, it was a tough week for the Panthers, but we're going to put it behind us and start over this week with the Franklin County Seahawks on Tuesday, November 16th.  Come on out and support our team!

Hosford Students Make Panhandle Conference Team in Football

Each year coaches from the Panhandle Conference get together and select the students from the areas middle schools who they feel were the very best in the sport and award them a spot on their "dream team".  This year seven students  from Tolar Middle school were given the distinct honor or being chosen as  members of this team.  Three of those young men were Hosford Students, Will Hosford, D.J. Pittman and Micah McCaskill.  We are very proud of their hard work this season.  All of our boys fought hard and represented our school very well.

J. Pittman and Noah Davis both added 4, while Zack Haney, and Bailey Singletary each scored 2 and Ricky Ramer hit a free throw to add 1 more.  Leading the team in rebounds were Ken King and Nathan Duggar each with 6, followed by Swier and Haney with 4, Pittman with 3, Davis with 2 and McCaskill, Ramer, Singletary and Hunter Jaikin with 1 rebound each.

Next week we play the  St. Joe Sharks on Monday, November 8th in Port St. Joe,  Blountstown Tigers on November 9th in Blountstown and Tolar Bulldogs on Friday November 12th at 1:30 in Hosford.  Please come out and support our kids!
