Thursday, Hosford School's Basketball team faced off against the Wewa Gators. Once again the Panthers scored big, beating Wewa by a score of 35-15, proving that teamwork pays off in the end! On our A team, "Everyone shoots, everyone scores", was almost the motto of the day. Garrett Swier led the team with 9 points, Micah McCaskill socred 7, Ken King put 6 points on the board, D. J. Pittman and Noah Davis both added 4, while Zack Haney, and Bailey Singletary each scored 2 and Ricky Ramer hit a free throw to add 1 more. Leading the team in rebounds were Ken King and Nathan Duggar each with 6, followed by Swier and Haney with 4, Pittman with 3, Davis with 2 and McCaskill, Ramer, Singletary and Hunter Jaikin with 1 rebound each.
Our "B" team played great in Wewa as well. They won their game against the Gators by a score of 8-6. Leading them in scoring was Blade Barineau with 4 points, and Ryan Rogers with 4 points. Leading rebounder was Rogers with 9 rebounds, Barineau with 1, Chase Jordan and Ken Thompson each with 1 rebound. As of today our boys teams, both A and B, have a record of 2-0. Lets keep it going. If our boys continue to play together and work as a team, this reporter sees no reason why they won't be this year's conference champs. Come on out and help us cheer them on to victory! Next week we play the St. Joe Sharks on Monday, November 8th in Port St. Joe, Blountstown Tigers on November 9th in Blountstown and Tolar Bulldogs on Friday November 12th at 1:30 in Hosford. Please come out and support our kids!
